Also part of the program included the awarding of Leadership awards of which Kaimay Yuen Terry was recognized. Terry has been very active in the Chinese
Community and has championed many worthy causes that included the arts, civil rights as well as health and many social issues.  Among the many roles she has
held while serving the Chinese community is president of Chinese American Association of Minnesota and has served on the University of Minnesota’s China Center Advisory Committee.
 
Additional recipients of the Leadership award were Mao Heu Thao, Malichansouk Kouanchao and Dixie Latu Riley (1951-2009).
